Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
Courtside Crew is a free app for learning the rules of pickleball, made by Get Better App, LLC. This policy explains what the app does with information about you. In short: it collects none.
What the app collects
Nothing. Courtside Crew does not collect, share or sell any personal information, or any information about how you use it, and never sends any to us or to anyone else.
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No advertising.
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking of any kind.
- No purchases inside the app.
- The app never sends anything over the internet itself. The one way your progress leaves your device is iCloud sync on an iPhone, iPad or Mac (below), where Apple's iCloud keeps it in your own iCloud account, and you can turn that off.
What's kept on your device
To remember your progress, the app saves a small file on your own device, or in your web browser's own storage if you play in a browser. It holds your settings, the rules you've practiced and how you answered, your streaks, badges and stats, and the looks you chose.
We can't see that file. Apart from iCloud sync (below), it never leaves your device. Removing the app, or clearing the site's data in your browser, removes it.
iCloud sync (iPhone, iPad and Mac)
If you're signed in to iCloud on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, the app keeps a copy of that same progress in your own iCloud account, so your other Apple devices can pick up where you left off. It's on unless you turn it off: Settings, Game, iCloud sync, on each device.
- What's in it. The same things as the file on your device: your settings, including any nicknames you gave the players (apart from a few settings that belong to one device, such as text size and volume), the rules you've practiced and how you answered, your streaks, badges and stats, and the looks you chose. Nothing else: no email address, contacts, location or device identifiers.
- Where it goes. It's kept in iCloud key-value storage, part of your Apple Account, which only this app on your own devices can read. Apple stores it and moves it between your devices under Apple's privacy policy. It never reaches us, and we have no way to see it.
- Turning it off. With iCloud sync off, the app stops sending your progress to iCloud and stops reading it from there. The copy already in iCloud stays in your iCloud account; it's brought up to date if you turn sync on again.
The app on Android, Windows, Linux or in a web browser has no iCloud sync: there, your progress stays on that device.
Things that happen only when you ask
- Sharing. If you choose to share a game's code after a win, the app hands a line of text to your device's own share sheet, or copies it for you to paste where there is no share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you and the app you pick, under that app's own policy.
- Links. The About screen can open this policy, the terms of service, or an email to our help address. These open in your device's own browser or mail app; the app itself sends nothing.
- Spoken words. Any words the app reads aloud that aren't one of its recorded voices are spoken by your device's own text-to-speech.
Children
The app collects no information from anyone, so it collects none from children.
Where you got the app
If you downloaded the app from a store such as the App Store, Google Play or itch.io, that store may collect information about your download under its own privacy policy. If you play in a web browser, the game is loaded from the site that hosts it, and that site may collect information under its own privacy policy. Once loaded, the game itself sends nothing anywhere (apart from iCloud sync, to your own iCloud account), and the app shares nothing with any store.
This website
getbetterapp.io uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. Like any web server, its host may keep standard server logs (such as the address a request came from and the page asked for) to keep the site running and secure.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
